Are we reversing the outcome of the cold war?

Remember when there was a huge battle of wills between socialist Russia and capitalist America? In the end Russia collapsed under the weight of its own economic principles. The Soviet Union was forced to embrace a freedom oriented capitalistic society. Growth has been slow there, but there economy has been steadily improving for 20 years. And the king of the hill, the United States of America, having proven the merits of our beliefs...... Has decided to embrace socialism? Have we forgotten that we already had this battle, and socialism lost?
